There must be many others who are willing to reshape braces, and I’ve seen the sometimes disasterous results on half a dozen or so. Some were scalloped so radically that the bridge rotated enough that it pulled loose along the bottom edge--including a factory scalloped 1989 HD-28. If a little is good, more is not necessarily better.
I have developed a theory or model of how and where each string makes its sound in the guitar, enabling me to tell when a brace is balanced against the string tension--and thus, where to stop! I call this ‘Sound is Round’, and explain it in the page on Parabolics.
